Marown Commissioners say they haven't tried to force a playing fields organisation to take over the village's only public toilet.
On Facebook, the local authority published a letter sent to the Marown Memorial Playing Fields about the loos.
The board says it asked if MMPF would consider running the facility, which is on its land, and hopes talks can still be held.
It's after media reports suggested the commissioners had tried to force the issue.
