Marown Commissioners have reduced rates for residents, thanks to historic outstanding rates collected by the IOM Government.
At their meeting on Wednesday, 21 January, the commissioners set the rate for the upcoming year at 2.36p in the pound, a 1.255% reduction.
In addition to the rate cut, the parish has invested in new street lighting across the area without taking on any debt.
The Board also confirmed that Clause 5, which would give central government powers to impose new duties on local authorities, will not affect councils this year.
