Tour De France Starts Today
The Tour de France gets underway today with Mark Cavendish a hot favourite to take this first stage and also one of the favourites to take the Green Jersey.
Cav’s not had quite the same season he had last year; this is due to a number of reasons with injury early in the season playing a major part.
He told 3FM however that he’s had a different goal this season with capturing the Green Jersey taking precedent.
Today’s event is the prologue taking place in and around Rotterdam with a course running just shy of 9km.
Tomorrow is the official stage one from Rotterdam to Brussels, its a long flat course that will see Cav leading the pack on the sprints.
