Those were the words of Environment, Food and Agriculture Minister, Geoffrey Boot.
Mr Boot says that it "is well protected, and sustains fishing, recreation and tourism."
The Departments Senior Marine Environment Officer, Dr Peter Duncan, represented the Island at a recent UNESCO Biosphere event in Menorca.
