People who take part in water based activities or enjoy angling are being warned to look out for 'killer shrimp.'
Last week saw the first ever record of the shrimp in the British Isles and it appears to be there in very large numbers.
A warning is going out to the Manx public, as the government describe the highly destructive invader called Dikerogammarus villosus as something that could devastate wildlife in Manx rivers and lakes, if it ever reached the Island.
It's thought the Isle of Man would be particularly vulnerable as the killer shrimps preferred habitat is a rocky substrate with fast flowing water, which is typical of the vast majority of Manx rivers.
