Mark Cavendish will not be riding the Tour de France this year.
The Manx Missile equalled Eddy Merckx’s record of 34 stage wins last year.
He’s been victorious in several races this season, however his team has selected Fabio Jakobsen to take part in the tournament instead.
Cavendish will instead be a reserve rider, with riders setting off in Denmark on Friday.
