Manx meat won't return to Tesco shelves before June

It will be the end of June at the earliest before Manx meat is returned to the shelves in Tesco, it has been confirmed.

The Chairman of Isle of Man Meat has told 3FM that the company is aspiring to meet the supermarket’s global standards but that it would be at least another six to eight weeks.

In February supplies of Manx meat to the Lake Road store were stopped after an unsatisfactory audit against Tesco manufacturing standards. 

Graham Crowe has told 3FM the problem had stemmed from the "previous regime”, and a cost cutting legacy, and the company was putting more resource into the areas where it was needed. 

He added that a recent visit from Tesco representatives was fairly positive although there was still a way to go:
