Manx Gas is considering introducing a social tariff following customer feedback.
The concept was first introduced four years ago, and will now again be considered along with a small business tariff and assessment of domestic tariffs.
This follows from discussions with the government's Economic Policy Review Committee, which showed that there is support for an evaluation.
A spokesperson for Manx Gas says that its critical existing tariffs are reviewed, with new ones introduced, to assist those in the greatest need of support.
The company also reassures customers that their income will not be requested as part of tariff criteria requirements.
