The Island's gas regulator has rejected criticisms made by Isle of Man energy in a consultation about new rules.
The Communications and Utilities Regulatory Authority was consulting about new laws which would govern minimum service standards and dispute handling.
However, in its response Manx Gas accused the body of lacking experience in regulation and said it didn't understand what the new law was for.
CURA says the bill would protect gas customers and better enforce breaches of regulations.
