Manx Concert Brass promoted to Championships

Manx Concert Brass has been promoted to the Championship Section of UK brass banding, becoming the first Island band to do so.

It comes following a performance at the North West Regional Championships in Blackpool earlier this year.

The brass band first began competing in 1995, with many of the original players still part of the group.

Chairman Philip Shimmin says when they first started contesting, their objective was to improve as players and as a band, and to do their very best to represent the Island.
