Four anaesthetists working for Manx Care have been reported for summons in the offence of manslaughter by gross negligence after an incident at Noble's Hospital earlier this year.
A police investigation took place after a man died in February after a routine operation.
The medical practitioners involved are expected to appear in court next year, but 'remain in work at this time,' according to a statement from the government.
The statement, on behalf of Manx Care, adds that the health body is working to mitigate the impact of this and ensure the delivery of health and social care services is maintained.
Police have urged the public to avoid speculation over the case.
