Manx Care says it can't compare its waiting lists with those in the UK.
A Freedom of Information request asked for comparisons the healthcare provider had made with NHS England or similar bodies.
But in its response, the organisation said it didn't use NHS methodology and so couldn't make any such comparisons.
And it added as a result it didn't hold the information asked for.
