The passenger was reported to be feeling unwell - the captain and crew reacted quickly to the incident and sought specialist medical attention.
Departing at 7:16am, the seacat was half an hour into its journey to Liverpool when it turned around following advice that the passenger may be having a stroke.
The passenger was escorted off the vessel in an ambulance - but there's currently no news of this person's condition.
Chief executive Mark Woodward says it was a necessary measure:
Sailings to Liverpool are expected to be delayed today following the incident.
