Manannan sustains 'engine electrical control system' issue

The Steam Packet has now shed some light on the issue that's kept the Manannan docked in Liverpool; unable to travel back to the Island.

They suspect it's an engine electrical control system issue, which has prevented one of the engines from starting.

Specialist engineers are currently in Liverpool trying to find and fix a technical fault.

As a result, the Belfast sailings for today have been cancelled and will be amalgamated with tomorrow's Dublin crossing.

Assuming the fault can be fixed; the Manannan will leave Liverpool at 12pm today and then carry on as normal.

Steam Packet Company chief executive, Mark Woodward, has apologised to all affected; adding that passenger safety is their first priority and the Manannan will not sail until they are satisfied the issue has been properly rectified.
