The Steam Packet company says it's working to fix an engine problem, a week after the Manannan returned from her winter overhaul.
A control system for one of its main engines developed a problem on Saturday, forcing the engine to be shut down.
The company says it's carrying out testing and fault-finding but the vessel will operate on three engines, meaning longer crossing times, until the problem is fixed.
In a statement, the company has apologised to passengers.
