A major management restructuring programme at Noble's Hospital has been approved by the Council of Ministers.
The changes were proposed in a report carried out by Beamans management consultants.
It recommends a new framework with a hospital managing director reporting to a governing board, which in turn would be accountable to the Health Minister.
The existing structure was deemed inadequate to meet modern demands.
