A man who spat blood onto a police officer has been told he’s 'drinking in the last-chance saloon.'
Dean Anthony Whitehead of Heather Crescent in Pulrose appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse.
He’d previously admitted being drunk and disorderly and assaulting the officer outside his home on October 1 last year.
The court heard police were carrying out a welfare check on Whitehead’s neighbour when he began interfering with their work despite warnings to stay away.
As he was being arrested, he spat blood onto a female officer’s legs.
The hearing was told he’d since attended a rehabilitation course in the UK but left early when his privileges were revoked following a positive alcohol test.
Mrs Hughes jailed him for 14 weeks, suspended for two years, and ordered him to pay compensation of £250 and costs of £125.
