The Isle of Man Constabulary has confirmed James Price, who strangled and killed his mother last year, has been sentenced to an indefinite hospital order with restrictions.
The incident took place at their home in Andreas in January 2021, where Mr Price was arrested and admitted what he had done.
Since being charged he has been held at a specialist hospital in the UK, and pleaded guilt to Manslaughter on April 22 this year.
Senior Investigating Officer, DI Michelle McKillop says the unlawful killing of Mrs Price is extremely sad and upsetting, adding that it’s apparent James was suffering a significant mental health illness that was undiagnosed and untreated.
