A court’s heard a man who groped a barmaid during a drinking session with teammates has now lost his university place.
Joshua Thomas Mills of Hilltop View in Douglas appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse.
The 20 year old pleaded guilty to indecent assault at the Highwayman pub in Peel on August 21 last year.
An earlier hearing was told Mills touched the woman’s breasts through her top with the palms of his hands - a statement from his victim revealed she’d lived in fear of being attacked again and had changed jobs since the incident.
Defence advocate Jim Travers told the court Mills wanted to be a teacher or sports coach, and had lost his place at university in Liverpool because of his conviction.
He was ordered to do 180 hours community service and pay £1,000 compensation to his victim and £125 costs
