A Ramsey man who downloaded tens of thousands of indecent images of children and shared some online will be sentenced later this year.
Daniel Paul Ashenden of The Crescent in Ramsey appeared before Deemster Cook at the Court of General Gaol Delivery.
He’d previously pleaded guilty to 11 charges of possessing the images and one of distributing them.
The court heard police had matched 22,000 images to a specialised database but another 57,000 hadn’t been sorted through - prosecutor Roger Kane said he was content to proceed on the basis Ashenden had possessed 22,000 images.
He was bailed in the sum of £500 to appear in court again for sentencing on July 4.
