A man who drunkenly abused paramedics in a busy cafe in Douglas has been put on probation for a year.
David Samuel Anderson of Head Road in Douglas appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse.
The 41 year old admitted using provoking behaviour at Thai Taste on Regent Street on February 21 – a further charge of being drunk and disorderly was withdrawn.
Prosecutor Barry Swain told the hearing paramedics were called to the cafe at 1.30pm after staff thought Anderson was unconscious.
However, when medical staff arrived he became verbally abusive, shouting threats.
After hearing Anderson had numerous previous alcohol-related convictions, Mrs Hughes ordered him to spend 12 months under the supervision of the probation service and banned him from buying alcohol for six months.
