Man sustains serious head injuries following incident in Castletown

2 man altercation results in road closures

An incident in Castletown has led to a 42-year-old man needing treatment for serious head injuries in Nobles Hospital.

It’s as a result of an altercation between the 42 year old and a 35-year-old man yesterday at 6.15pm.

Its resulted in the closure of both Bank Street and Malew Street between the Old Church and Market Square.

The 35-year-old man is currently in custody at Police Headquarters.

Although the Police are not looking for any other suspects they are keen to speak to a man in his 40s or 50s with short dark hair, wearing a navy blue fleece, who was present at the incident at the time.

The roads will remain closed into the morning as forensic teams need daylight in order to carry out their investigations successfully.
