A man has been seriously injured after crashing on the Mountain Mile and the car catching fire.
It happened on Saturday around 3.20pm - no other vehicles were involved.
Police, firefighters and paramedics all reported to the incident - the driver was treated for non-life threatening serious injuries.
The road was closed for several hours whilst collison investigation work was undertaken.
Officers are appealing for anyone with information regarding the owner of a Red Volkswagen Polo, which was driving in the direction of Douglas shortly prior to the incident, to contact Police Headquarters on 631212.
