A man accused of burgling a shop in Douglas has been remanded in custody.
A man accused of burgling a shop and damaging a door in a nursing home on the same day has been remanded in custody.
Aaron Lee Barnett of no fixed abode appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse.
The 24-year-old hasn’t yet entered pleas to burglary and criminal damage on January 3 and assault on August 4 last year.
A previous hearing was told he barged past staff at the Cooperative store on Prospect Terrace in Douglas shortly before 8am on January 3 and took cigarettes and tobacco before making off.
Less than an hour later he was spotted inside Marathon Court by staff – although the home was shut to visitors because of coronavirus, he wasn’t wearing a mask and smashed glass in a door to escape when he was challenged.
There was no application for bail, and Mr Barnett was remanded in custody to appear in court again on January 18.
