A man who assaulted his girlfriend as she screamed for him to stop has been remanded in custody.
William Hedley Graham of Tynwald Street in Douglas appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse via a live video link from prison.
The 50-year-old admitted assault at his home on December 6.
Prosecutor Rebecca Cubbon told the hearing Graham tried to stop his partner leaving during an argument, pulling her up stairs and putting his hand over her mouth when she pleaded with him not to hurt her.
A bail application was refused and Graham was remanded in custody to appear in court again on December 30.
