A man’s pleaded guilty to carrying out a string of thefts in the south of the Island.James Tarron Keggin of Woodbourne Road in Douglas appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
The 27-year-old admitted five counts of theft and one each of taking a car without consent, drink-driving and having no licence or insurance on October 22.
Prosecutor Barry Swain told the court Keggin was arrested on Fisher’s Hill in Gansey in the early hours of October 22, and officers found he’d stolen items such as driving licences, sunglasses and a vaccination certificate from unlocked cars in Port St Mary.
The hearing was told he’d also driven a Mercedes that didn’t belong to him in the car park at the Shore Hotel in Gansey while over the limit.
There was no bail application and Keggin was remanded in custody to appear in court again on December 9.
