Man loses immigration status challenge

A Nigerian man's lost a legal challenge against the Treasury after he was refused indefinite leave to remain in the Isle of Man.

Abbey Idoniboye-Obu went to court in a long-running battle over his immigration status after he moved to the Isle of Man as a student in 2007.

He'd claimed he'd not been properly informed of his appeal rights after a decision went against him last August.

However, Acting Deemster Arrowsmith dismissed his claim after hearing it had been made after a legal deadline had passed.
