A man found with a loaded shotgun in the footwell of his vehicle in a car park has been ordered to carry out unpaid work.
David George, of Snugborough Avenue in Union Mills, appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse after admitting possessing a firearm in a public place.
Prosecutor Kate Alexander told the court police were called to Sulby Reservoir car park on October 23 last year and found George in his vehicle acting suspiciously.
They found the loaded gun in his car.
Defence advocate Steve Wood said his client would have just gone home that day had the police not turned up.
Magistrates ordered George to carry out 180 hours community service and was put on probation for 18 months.
