A Douglas man who has no knowledge of an incident where he was violent and abusive towards police and security staff has been fined over £900.
25-year-old Josh Corlett was sentenced at Douglas Courthouse last week having previously pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly.
Police arrested him on June 9th outside Tahiko nightclub however he resisted and PAVA incapacitant spray had to be used to help restrain him - he later caused damage to a police cell.
The court heard he was on a night out with friends but couldn't remember what had happened due to mixing prescription medication with alcohol.
His advocate told the court it was a "wake-up call" and a very "steep learning curve" and Corlett has realised he can't cope with his drug and alcohol issues alone.
Sentencing him Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes fined him £250 for resisting arrest, £150 for damaging a cell and £100 for being drunk and disorderly.
He was also ordered to pay £150 in compensation and £261 in costs and was banned from licensed premises, and buying alcohol, for six months.
