A man will appear in court in December over allegations he had an imitation firearm and two knives in his car.
Daniel Sydney Andrews of Tynwald Street in Douglas appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
He denied two counts of possessing knives in public, and one each of possessing an imitation firearm, theft, handling stolen goods, going equipped to steal and resisting police.
Prosecutor Barry Swain said the 29 year old painter and decorator was stopped by officers in St Marks and told them the items, including a BB gun, were in his vehicle because he’d been made homeless.
He’s also alleged to have become extremely aggressive when questioned, forcing police to use PAVA spray to subdue him.
Magistrates said the case would be heard by a deemster at the Court of General Gaol Delivery.
They bailed him in the sum of £500 to an address on Albany Road in Douglas to appear again on December 12.
