A 33-year-old man from Maughold has been charged with ABH after punching the landlord of a pub in Laxey.
Ian Brown appeared at Douglas Courthouse this morning charged with one count of assault causing actual bodily harm.
The court heard he was involved in an argument with his girlfriend at the Mines Tavern which spilled into the beer garden on Saturday night.
Mr Brown admitted in police interview to punching the landlord in the face – he then fell to the floor, banging his head and falling unconscious.
He was taken to Noble’s Hospital where he was found to have three broken ribs.
The case has been adjourned to October 14th so that medical reports can be compiled and the prosecution can review the charge – Mr Brown has been bailed.
