A man who’s said to have caused £12,000 of damage to a rented home has been told his case will be heard in the summary court.
Callum Michael O’Connor of Bucks Road in Douglas appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
Prosecutor Roger Kane told the hearing the case had been slated to be heard in a Court of General Gaol Delivery because £12,000 in compensation was being sought.
But he explained an insurance company had already paid out a claim and so the case could be kept in summary courts as there was no longer a claim for compensation.
Magistrates bailed the 22-year-old in the sum of £500 and he’ll next appear on 16 September for a pre-trial review.
