A man from Ramsey has admitted assaulting a police officer and damaging a gate belonging to the town’s commissioners.
John Anthony Green of Stanley Mount appeared before Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse this week.
He pleaded guilty to using provoking behaviour and damaging the gate in Bircham Avenue Close on February 7.
He also admitted assaulting the police officer in the Cooperative car park in Christian Street on the same date.
The hearing was told the cost to ratepayers of repairing the gate was £54.11 and prosecution advocate Hazel Carroon told the hearing she’d be applying for a compensation order.
Mrs Hughes adjourned the case for a pre-sentence report to be prepared - Green was bailed until his next appearance on March 26.
