A man from Castletown's been ordered to do 200 hours of unpaid work after admitting stealing a digger from his employer.
Craig Stephen Gelling of Ellerslie Gardens in Castletown admitted theft when he appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse.
The hearing was told 30 year old Gelling borrowed a JCB minidigger from Colas between November 9 last year and January 31 this year.
But when the company missed the machinery, it contacted police and Gelling panicked.
He took off his firm's stickers and arranged to sell the digger for £6,500.
Mrs Hughes imposed a 200-hour community service order and Gelling will also have to pay £125 costs.
