Man admits provoking behaviour after domestic row

A Port St Mary man who snapped his girlfriend's car key during a heated argument will be sentenced next month.

33-year-old Lee Earnshaw pleaded guilty to using provoking behaviour during an appearance at Douglas Courthouse this week.

On November 27th the pair became embroiled in a domestic incident at their home in Ballasalla where Earnshaw proceeded to smash the TV and try and break the fish tank.

His partner left the property to do the school-run - he got in his own vehicle and followed her where the argument continued in front of their children.

As well as breaking her rear-view mirror, Earnshaw snapped the key which was in the ignition at the time and tried to shunt her car.

The court heard Earnshaw had previously admitted a charge of destroying property - a further charge of common assault on a female was withdrawn.

Social enquiry reports have now been requested before he is sentenced on April 12th.
