A man was taken to Nobles in the early hours of Saturday morning after being hit by a car which fled the scene.
The male was walking up Derby Road when he was struck by a car near the Bowling Green Pub.
The driver failed to stop at the scene.
The 20 year old male suffered minor injuries.
Police are appealing for witnesses.
