Low number of incidents on the roads, but 15 arrests made for drunk and disorderly behaviour
Mad Sunday’s crime and incident statistics have been described as a mixed bag by the Isle of Man constabulary.
From 8.00am to 8.00pm they only had six collisions to respond to, the Mountain Road’s closure to deal with a significant oil spill has been attributed to these low figures.
They said the improvement on the road was not mirrored on the festival side with fifteen arrests made throughout the day.
Inspector Derek Flint said many of the arrests were related to alcohol-fuelled violence; several of the individuals will appear in court today.
The Police have said they expect to see high standards of behaviour both on the roads, aswell as the clubs and bars for the remainder of TT week.
