Plans for a new four star hotel and leisure complex at the Lord Street bus station site have been scrapped.
Developer Askett Hawk has failed to submit the required planning application on time meaning the development agreement is now likely to be terminated.
Talks first began with the company in 2006 to transform the site which would have seen the bus station relocated.
The Department of Infrastructure says it will now work to develop a master plan for the redevelopment of the site and in the meantime it will be continue to be used as off street parking.
Middle MHK Howard Quayle brought the issue over the application to light and says he’s pleased the plan has failed:
