 
                            Infrastructure Minister Michelle Haywood says her department will consult Douglas Council and Onchan Commissioners before putting 20mph signs on lampposts.
She faced a question for written answer from Douglas Central MHK Chris Thomas about putting speed limit signs on street light columns.
Dr Haywood explained unlike in the UK, streetlighting is the responsibility of local authorities and so any new signs on them would need their permission.
And she added the Department of Infrastructure will coordinate with councillors and commissioners as new 20mph zones are put in place in both areas.
