A Manx Living Wage would 'tick all the boxes' the new Programme for Government has set out.
That's what a Ramsey MHK claimed when he put a motion before Tynwald last week calling for a voluntary wage to be established.
Lawrie Hooper wanted a commitment that workers should be paid enough to get by on - his motion was passed and the Cabinet Office will report to Tynwald by October with proposals.
Mr Hooper says he doesn't believe businesses should be forced into the scheme and says instead it's government's job to incentivise employers to adopt the wage:
