50 year old John Dunne, who's living on Shore Road in Peel while he carries out work there, appeared before Deputy High Bailiff Rachael Braidwood at Douglas Courthouse.
The court heard he was arrested after hitting a parked vehicle in his Citroen Berlingo on East Quay in Peel on September 22 - tests showed he was almost twice the legal limit.
He was fined £1,500 and banned from the roads for two years as well as being ordered to pay £125 prosecution costs.
