Douglas lifeboat was called to the aid of a fishing boat off the Island's coast at the weekend.
The Sir William Hillary and her volunteer crew sprang into action at 2.35pm on Saturday, when the 10-metre vessel reported engine failure.
The boat was around three miles south east of Douglas - she was towed back to port safely.
Nobody was hurt during the incident.
