Library protests taking place today

Angela Moffatt

The campaign to stop library provision cuts are set to gather pace with more protests planned over the next few hours.

The protests will be staged to coincide with the Family Library Open Day today.

The purpose of this initiative is to showcase the facility and the good service it provides for the young, elderly and vulnerable in the Isle of Man.

The library will also be inviting members of the public to sign the petition throughout the day.

Negotiations officer for Prospect, Angela Moffatt, has said the campaign is receiving overwhelming public support (see audio).

The protests are planned to continue until 4pm.
