Liberal Vannin is looking for assurance that hiring a new Information Commissioner is seen as a priority by government.
The party's Chair, Paul Weatherall, says they're 'deeply concerned' by the gap left by the recent resignations of the Commissioner and Deputy.
The role involves monitoring and enforcing the Island's data protection legislation.
He adds confidence in the security of information, particularly personal data, is currently 'at a low ebb amongst many on the Island.'
Lib Vannin is urging the government to fill the post on a permanent basis as soon as possible.
