A historic mine site near Laxey has been closed off after a wall collapse.
The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture made the decision to close the former Snaefell Mines site after an urgent inspection.
It found significant risks including collapsed masonry, unstable walls and eroded footpaths.
DEFA Minister Clare Barber says the site may remain permanently closed unless money can be found to make it safe again.
