The amount of king scallops you're allowed to catch is to be reduced under new recommendations.
The Island's Scallop Management Board has suggested the Total Allowable Catch be cut down from 3,203 tonnes to 2,562, and a daily catch limit of 700 kilograms per vessel for the upcoming season.
Environment, Food and Agriculture Minister, Geoffrey Boot is fully supporting the measures.
They will be in force from Thursday, November 1 until the end of May next year.
It comes after a report by independent advisors found stocks have continued to decline.
