Manxman Peter Kennaugh was one of only 12 cyclists to finish the men’s road race in Glasgow yesterday.
The 104 mile race, which started at Glasgow Green, took place in appalling weather conditions with 127 riders not going the distance.
Despite leading for eight of the 12 laps Kennaugh couldn’t maintain his lead coming eighth overall with a time of four hours 18 minutes and 20 seconds.
Wales’ Geraint Thomas took victory just five minutes quicker.
