A local charity is issuing advice as Seal pup season has officially begun on Island.
The Manx Whale and Dolphin Watch is reminding people to never approach a seal - whether it be young or an adult.
Further, it says as stormy weather approaches it's normal for young seals to come up on to shore to rest and re-gain strength.
Those behind the charity say if you see a white baby seal - its mum is usually not far away.
By the time a pup is just 5 weeks old it can fend for itself - but by approaching a resting seal, people can scare it back into the water before it's ready.
