Ramsey lifeboat was launched to rescue a kayaker yesterday afternoon after they got into difficulty near to Port Lewaigue.
Two kayakers had set off but soon into their journey found the wind and tidal conditions difficult and were unable to make headway.
One managed to make it safely back to shore to raise the alarm - with the lifeboat launching at 2.20pm.
A Ramsey registered fishing vessel, which was in the vicinity at the time, took the drifting kayaker and kayak on board - they were then transferred to the rescue vessel and taken safely back to the shore.
