Jury visits crash site where firefighter died

Jurors in the trial of a Derbyshire man who's accused of causing death by careless driving have visited the scene of the fatal crash.

51-year-old James Ricketts, who's from Matlock, is standing trial - it's alleged his "obvious error of judgement" whilst doing a three point turn led to the death of firefighter Neil Walker.

The 43-year-old Ramsey man died near to Bulgham Rocks on August 6th last year when his motorcycle collided with Mr Ricketts' VW Golf.

Yesterday the jury was taken to the spot on the Laxey to Ramsey Coast Road where the collision happened - the prosecution argues that Mr Ricketts' driving fell below the required standard.

He denies the charge against him - the trial, which is expected to last seven days, continues.
